The Village
The cottage is located in the middle of the tiny lakeside village of Garrykennedy, Co. Tipperary. This is an area of great natural beauty, surrounded by lakes and mountains. The village has approximately 10 other properties (including 2 musical pubs and family style restaurant) all located adjacent to the marina and old harbour. Larkins Pub and Restaurant (3 doors down from the cottage) recently featured in the Michelin Eating out in Pubs Guide. It is one of only 16 Irish pub restaurants that appear in the book, featuring the best dining pubs in Britain and Ireland. Enjoy the free traditional music sessions at Larkins pub during your stay. The lake and marina are 100 yards directly in front of the cottage. The marina area includes picnic tables, children's playground (with swings and slides), open green space and plenty of free parking. In terms of activities, Garrykennedy has something for everybody. Sail boat and fishing boat rental is available in the village. The boat can be docked for free approx 100 yards from the front door of the cottage !
