The Cottage

Garrykennedy Cottage is a unique heritage property. It dates from 1782 and has been completely restored. It has 4 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms and includes all the comforts and convenience required for modern living. It featured on the FINE LIVING television channel in the US on the show "Around the World in 80 Homes".

The cottage is spacious, extending to over 2500 square feet. There is a beautiful private terraced garden with patio to the rear of the Cottage. Patio furniture and BBQ are provided.

The Cottage is a fantastic place to relax and unwind. Prior guests have commented that it’s really a destination in itself. Enjoy the two cozy living rooms - one with a stone fireplace and one with a wood burning stove. Let the exposed stone walls and the wood beamed ceilings absorb the tensions of modern life. Enjoy the peace and silence. Hear nothing but the tick-tock and chimes of the old clock. The Cottage is very comfortable. It has lots of comfy oversized sofas and armchairs. Lots of beautiful and relaxing spaces - both inside the house and in the garden.

The cottage has a fully equipped modern kitchen with all you could need to prepare wonderful meals for your friends and family. Kitchen equipment includes a Rangemaster electric cooker with integrated hood (5 halogen rings, 2 ovens plus a grill), microwave, Large Samsumg American refrigerator and freezer with ice and water dispenser, electric coffee maker, electric coffee bean grinder, electric kettle, electric toaster. We also provide full set of Calphalon cookware, cooking utensils and enough delph, stemware and cutlery to host up to 10 persons. We've tried to think of everything !

You can seat up to 10 at the large monks bench dining table in our glazed dining room facing the back garden. Or dine alfresco on our private patio. Patio furniture and BBQ are provided.

The nearest grocery store (SPAR) is one mile away. The nearest large supermarket is in Nenagh (6 miles from cottage).

Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms:

The cottage has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms

Bedrooms:

- The one bedroom downstairs has one queen size bed - sleeps 2 persons.
- The master ensuite bedroom (with attached bathroom) upstairs has a queen size bed - sleeps 2 persons.
- The gable end bedroom upstairs has a queen size bed - sleeps 2 persons.
- The interior bedroom upstairs has a double bed - sleeps 2 persons.
- Total of 4 double beds to sleep 8 persons.
We can also provide 1 queen size aero beds (air mattress) upon request.

Bathrooms:

The cottage has 3 bathrooms (all upstairs):
- main bathroom has a huge luxury deep soak bathtub, rain shower, sink and toilet.
- second bathroom has shower stall, sink and toilet.
- third bathroom is master bathroom (ensuite) off master bedroom has shower stall, sink and toilet.

Upstairs we also provide a laundry area with washer and dryer. There are covered clothes lines in back yard. We provide 2 hairdryers, curling tongs, iron and ironing board.

We provide all linens and towels. Complimentary toiletries provided include luxury Crabtreee & Evelyn soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Entertainment - TV's, DVD, Music

We provide a small library of books and DVD movies for your enjoyment. The Cottage has 6 color TVs (yes, six, 3 downstairs and 3 upstairs including 37 inch, 32 inch and 26 inch Samsung LCD TVs). We also provide 2 x iPod Bose docking stations, 2 DVD players (plays euro and US DVDs) plus a CD Hifi system. Bring your iPods, CDs and DVDs and enjoy them at the cottage. All this technology is discreetly placed so as to preserve the overall ambiance of the cottage.

Broadband Internet Access

We can arrange to have WiFi broadband internet service at the Cottage for your stay if needed. This will allow you to access the internet at broadband speeds using your laptop. We do not provide a computer.

Landline Phone and Cell Phones

The cottage has landline telephone service. We also provide you with 2 local Irish Cell Phones and chargers for your use during your stay. Calls between these 2 cell phones are free so it’s a great way to stay in touch when your out and about. Its also free to receive calls from anywhere in the world. Your own home country cell phone, Blackberry, iphone etc will work perfectly in Ireland.
